Springbrook Church
So we dumped the name, The Mission. It just didn't feel right. But we are pleased to announce our new name: Springbrook Church. Why Springbrook? Well, I'm glad you asked:
1. Springbrook is relevant to Langley. Springbrook is the road which connects Glover to the 232nd St. freeway interchange. The name has a long history in Langley: in 1892, the building now known as Harmsworth Hall at the 232nd St. interchange was built. It's original name: Springbrook School. Apparently, there was a hot spring in the area. I imagine it's still around somewhere... we just have to find it!
2. Springbrook used to be the name of 72nd Ave. from Milner to 248th St. It was a key road in Willoughby, Milner, and Murrayville--the very heart of the Township of Langley.
3. The name Springbrook feels fresh and new. It is not intimidating in any way. It's happy. It is a reflection of the kind of people we want to be. Real, happy, new.
So, Springbrook we are. We're presently building a website but in the meantime, www.springbrookchurch.com will bring you to this blog.
