What we value...
As a core leadership team, we have been meeting regularly to work through our values. I've posted them below. We are also working on a set of relational values, which we will have ready in the next week or so...
-----
Springbrook Church is a multi-generational community of faith that exists to share God’s life, love, and laughter with everyone we meet.
As diverse as we are, we are held together by several common important ideals that we all share. We are not perfect in them--in fact, we often fail in living them out to their fullest extent. But as a community of faith--a church--we long to be these things. This is our shared dream, our common vision.
We do not want to be defined by our activities or programs or methods or branding or anything other than the values we share. Do we have all the answers to living a successful life? No! But we do know that God has bound our hearts together around our values.
When you look at us, know that we long for these values to be evident in everything we do together:
> We value loving God and pursuing Him wholeheartedly.
> We value being a missional community that serves people and empowers them to be transformed, taught, developed and prosperous.
> We value being a diverse family dedicated to treating one another with respect and affection, knowing every human being is perfectly loved by God.
> We value fun, celebrating life and living it to the fullest: we are real people experiencing a real God.
> We value a Spirit-filled journey of experiencing and responding to God, producing joy, peace, rest, revelation, beauty, creativity, safety and authenticity.
> We value Scripture and the history of the Church and count it a privilege to build on that spiritual heritage.
> We value developing character through a life-long process of learning, teaching and mentoring.
> We value our community of Langley, and want to partner with its commitment to generosity, volunteerism, servanthood, kindness, justice, and respect.
> We value the adventure of freely connecting with God through His creation, and recognize that God has entrusted its care to us.
